PIERCE THE VEIL

2016

This is a small selection of the final photographs taken of my grandfather before his passing, at age eighty-six. They serve as a memorial to his image and as a final testament to his memory, which began to decline in his last two years on Earth. Most of these images were part of a multimedia collage project which incorporated photography, watercolor, colored pencil, and oil portraiture. While the photographs seen here are taken out of their original context, they nevertheless embody motifs of memory and identity.
